The Greatest Showman
Sometimes I forget the pure joy music can convey, but -fortunately- every once in a blue moon I stumble upon something that forcefully reminds me of the power of music.
Something like this video...
When I first (and completely accidentally, thanks YouTube!) watched it, I was caught somewhere in-between crying and beaming like a complete loon.
Now, a good few times later, I still have no words for the magic.

Yeah? I haven't seen it (yet). I really didn't even know of its existence until late last night - me seeing this particular video really was a completely (though very happy) accident.

Musicians tend to experience happiness and joy a lot more often/more immediate than us mere mortals, in my experience. (Frustration, sadness, and the like as well, it seems like, though). After seeing this video I think I understand. The joy and energy in the room is something rarely found outside a music-based setting, I hink. (Though at times a particularly great rehearsal/evening may come close in a theatre setting.) And I really, really love how clearly you can see Hugh's struggle at the beginning - he knows he can't sing, but he even more he knows he can't NOT sing!
Makes me really miss the time when I was singing in the school choir. Not that I had any talent, nor that I ever experienced so much emotion there, but I always enjoyed it.
