26 - Viggo's Art
One of the reasons I love Viggo so much is his versatility and creativity.
I love that he is so much more than "just" an actor. While I fell in love with his presence on screen, I very quickly learned that there is so much more to love in this man.
I envy his ability to express himself in paintings.
I adore his inclination to capture even the most mundane things on film, thus turning them into a timeless reminder of moments and feelings.
I'm deeply in awe of the way he uses words as a canvas of his emotions.
No wonder I spent the first paycheque of my "new" job on his books.
By now I'm the proud owner of 7 of his books and a few CDs. And I'm certain I'll purchase some more very soon.

(The first two books I purchased, photographed seconds after I ripped the parcel open. "Signlanguage" in particular is a real treat.)

(This one has some of the most beautiful of his photos, I think. And any book containing "Communion" can only be a favourite of mine, right?)

(As a declared horse-lover I can't not love this book, right? Wonderful photos taken by a guy who obviously loves these proud animals deeply.)

(The book with my most favourite poems in it! You can guess why... ;) )

(A beautiful book with really great photographs -particularly the one titled "Jun 5, 2002" intrigues me... this nose seems very familiar! - and a bunch of wonderful quotes and poems, more often than not translated by Viggo.)

(A great collection of pictures and texts. I particularly love that this books allows me a glimpse into his writings that are not poems. And more - into his style of journaling.
This book also inspired today's post. For not so happy reasons. Himself's parents' dog died this morning. A mere hour before he would have been put down anyway. So why did that inspire this post? Because in "Linger" Viggo published a "Letter to Birgit" in which he recounted the time he waited for his beloved dog to be cremated. Reading it I'm always torn between tears and laughter. It's a sad subject, certainly, but he recounts the tale with a dry wit that portraits the happenings of the day in a way that made me chuckle more than once. And - really - I think it's so Viggo to be experiencing what he did that day. Strange happenings seem to be part of his life, no matter what.)
I wish I were even a small percentage as talented and creatives as he is.

I'll have to check and get back to you about possibly lending me yours, okay? Thanks for the offer in any case! I really appreciate it!
And being gifted with Vig's books sounds great! :) I'd love any person giving me something like that forever ;)
