Post-NaNoWriMo Update - April 11, 2017 (Camp NaNo - Day 11)

Total Words Written: 189.879

Writing was a little slow today, but I finally wrapped up the scene I have been working on for the past week and started out with one where I actually have some parts of dialogue already sketched out, so that's a nice change and leaves me with a bit of breathing room for thinking ahead where I want to take the next couple scenes and how I'm going to transition from there to the main action.

On top of that, I finally caught up with my overstuffed inbox and I *should* have gotten back to all of you. If I overlooked something/someone, please give me a shout :)

So, if things go well, I should be able to concentrate on keeping up with the Camp NaNo word goals and slowly get our boys to the more interesting parts of the plot... with active participation of both Sean and Eric, who have re-entered the story to shake things up again *smirks* Oh I love my secondary characters. And Sean in particular! I can't wait to write the big reveal for him. *happy sigh*

Yes, I really do enjoy writing these days, in case you haven't cottoned on to that by now :D

I made it!
I caught up with my Camp NaNo word-count!
WEE-HEE!!!!

*does a happy dance*

I also find myself firmly en route to finally coming closer and closer to the real action of the story... which is great, obviously, but at the same time means that I'll have to squeeze in a bit of research and mapping out possible paths to take leading up to said action, without falling behind on my writing again.

But for the next days I'm still good and armed with a more or less planned-out course, so it should (hopefully!) be smooth sailing for a couple of writing sessions at least.

I'm also diligently making my way through my unread messages, so there's a good chance you'll find a reply or five from me in your inbox soon :D

I've made very good progress tonight, surprisingly good progress, actually.
When I started writing I really struggled, not even having reached my daily word-goal after nearly 1.5 hours, but somehow the words began to really flow once I struggled past the next handful of sentences.

So, it seems like I really managed to nearly catch up with the projected Camp NaNo word-count, lagging behind by a measly 200 words or so now, which I easily should manage to squeeze in tomorrow.
Wee-hee!

And this small success also means that I'll most likely be able to finally work on getting back to you as of tomorrow! Double wee-hee! :D

What a great, productive end to the weekend!

Well, I didn't write nearly as much as I wanted to today as well, however, as the pic above shows, I'm on the right track... The projected "finishing date" for my Camp NaNo goal went down from May 10th to May 7th, so there's that ;)

I'll try to get at least an hour or so of writing time in tomorrow night as well, and keep myself on track to catching up to where I *should* be in the process. And once the new week starts I'll adapt my schedule as much as possible to free myself enough time to not only write but also to finally have enough breathing room to get back on all your posts!

I hope you're having a great weekend, my dears!

Post-NaNoWriMo Update - April 7, 2017 (Camp NaNo - Day 07)

First things first: I SURVIVED! :D
As of today, I'm officially on Easter break! Woo-hoo!
(That, sadly, doesn't mean my to-do list has gotten any shorter, quite contrary at the moment, actually. But at least I don't have to invest time for going to/from and being at uni for the next two weeks!)

Anyway, back to the topic at hand - writing.

On Wednesday I didn't find the time to get something done at all, yesterday I managed to type out about 300 words, but got distracted after that (the lovely Himself gifted me with a copy of the incredibly sweet game "Stardew Valley" and I just had to try it out, right? I mean, you don't want to look ungrateful if you're receiving a surprise gift, do you now?), so I'm way behind on both my normal writing schedule, and -even worse- on my word-count for Camp NaNo.

But let's take a look at the facts first, okay?

So, as the second pic shows I've caught up a bit, but not nearly enough. If I manage to put in a monster-session tomorrow I might be able to reach my intended word goal, but I highly doubt it, quite frankly.
Ah well... this week I'll not have to get up at the crack of dawn on Monday, so there's a good chance of me actually writing on Sunday, so I might be able to squeeze out enough words over the course of the next two or three days to spare myself the hassle of writing incredibly much in order to make up for what I've missed in one single session, but instead divide it up to more manageable levels over the course of a few days.

That's the current plan at least.

I know that there are a few of you waiting for me to get back to them/their comments or PMs, and I promise I will, but that, too, will probably take me some time. (As I said, just because the holidays are here, my workload sadly hasn't suddenly disappeared *sigh*)

To sum up that ramble up: I'm here, I'm still alive, and I'm trying my best to catch up with both writing and you all :)
*hugs*

I would have liked to get more written today, but after hours and hours spent walking around the city, and a badly needed but cut-short nap, I'm frankly too beat to have done more than just writing enough to reach today's thankfully small word-goal. I wanted to catch up with Camp NaNo's projected word-goals originally, but ... no. No way. Not today.

But at least I've still not fallen too far behind, and with the Easter break looming in all its glory I'm still pretty optimistic that my muses will kick back in full force once I have caught up on sleep once uni is over and done with. So, up until now I'm not panicking in face of the few hundred words I'm behind at Camp NaNo. Let's hope it stays in this manageable range over course of the next days as well :)

In face of LJ's new Terms & Conditions, and it's prossible/probable ramnifications, I want to take the chance to remind all of you that I can be found over at Dreamwidth as well. I'd love to have you add me to your circles there as well if you want to :)

And with that, I'm wishing you all a good night! :)

Guess who's once again waiting for slides to be uploaded?
Yes, exactly!

However, as per usual, this gave me the time to write, so I won't complain too much for the moment...

I actually managed to write more than I thought I would, thereby making up quite a lot of what I missed yesterday in term of my Camp NaNo stats. Yay!

That's the good news for today... and now I'll get back to obsessively clicking the "reload"-button, waiting for that damn slides to show up... I want to go to bed, for God's sake!

Words Written Today: 669

As you can see, there's a new statistics making its appearance :) With Camp NaNo finally kicked off, for the duration of the month I'll also add my progress there to my updates.

As the numbers quite clearly show, today has been a rather low day in terms of what I've got done. I would have wanted to get a good headway on tomorrow's count as well (as I'll once again won't have the time to write), but various things conspired against me and I ended up starting to write way later than I anticipated and therefore didn't get as much done as I probably should have before bone-deep tiredness set in.

I swear, I can't wait for next week to be over and the Easter holidays finally arrive! (And with them way more time to write! And possibly sleep. Woo-hoo!)

Have a wonderful Sunday, my dears! I'll see you all on Monday :)
