Henning von Gierke

WOW. Absolutely WOW.

Went to University today... I've been absolutely demotivated because I hate to have my courses at weekends - and this particular course takes place 6 times this term... and each month it's a Friday and a Saturday. I do so hate it.
I expected another boring lecture of an even more boring person (the only cool guys/professors at my University I know and I knew they weren't the ones who are teaching this class) - so I arrived there quite pissed off.

Well... I've been proved wrong.
No boring person.
Quite contrary actually.

Finally somebody who knows what he's talking about *smirks*

And boy he did talk... it's such a pleasure to get to know the details of shooting  and anecdotes form the different movie-sets.
Today we wached "Every Man for Himself and God Against All" and "Heart of Glass" while he read out parts of the original scripts and told us about his experiences.

Tomorrow we're going to watch "Nosferatu the Vampyre" and "Fitzcarraldo"... and he's going to bring his personal shooting-diary and read parts of it. Yeah.

That's so cool... and I think it's the first and last time I'm really happy to get up early Saturday morning and go to University ;)
