Ah well, there's a lot of catching up to do :) The first of a few summary posts...
08 - 50s Style
I love, love, love females dressed in 50s clothing! It's an amazing look and sexy as hell as well!
I've always liked that style, but I've really come into the idea of dressing like that myself this last Christmas when Himself surprised me with a 50s dress and matching accessories (bless that man - sometimes he really DOES know me better than I do myself).

the lovely dress I've got for Christmas
So, a few days later I've found myself in the shop and... found paradise! ;)
I bought a wonderful blue petticoat for my dress (because it looks and feels fabulous!) and went home knowing I'd be back sooner or later.
Well, "sooner or later" turned out to be last week - and of course I couldn't go home without buying another dress...

And guess what? There's another one that's just begging to come live in my closet *sigh*
I need money!
And some semblance of talent for doing make-up *heavy sigh*
But it's soooo beautiful! *throws hearts*
09 - Skiing
Up until climbing came along, skiing has been my favourite sports EVER!
According to my parents, I've had my first baby-steps on skis while still wearing nappies. And at the age of 3 I've been racing down hills like it's the most natural thing in the world (which for me it is - or at least feels like it is ;) )

(Mini-me speeding in a very stylish pink overall)
My mum taught me to ski between her own legs, and I seem to have gotten the hang of it pretty quickly. Allegedly I've been skiing down even the steepest slopes without battling an eyelash from our second skiing holiday onwards.
And I still love that sport. Even in the times where I couldn't be arsed to do any exercise at all I've been happily racing down mountains in winter. It's so much fun and even if it is a really strenuous activity, I've never really viewed skiing as "sports". It's ... freedom? I love speeding down slopes, I love the challenge of really difficult mountains, I love the joy of driving down pristine white hills, I love leaving my paths in freshly fallen snow.
It's just wonderful all around!
Last year I've been back to my most favourite skiing-area and I would have loved to go back this year. Well, sadly it doesn't look like it's happening :(
Anyway - here are a couple of pics from last year, and a video - if you're getting motion-sick easily I'd probably warn you away from it... It's a short clip of me filmed by Himself while snowboarding behind me, so it's quite unsteady :)

the only sunny day of our holidays - of course I simply had to stop and soak up the rays for a bit

what a panorama!
shaky-wobbly and not my best skiing by far
10 - Horses
I love horses, and I love riding.
(And I love men who ride, but you knew that already, didn't you? *smirk*)
As a kid/young teenager I've spent one or two afternoons a week on horseback and I still love the memory. There's hardly anything more beautiful than cantering through freshly fallen snow, or across endless summer meadows. I love the power of those animals and their loyalty and trust as well as their wilfullness and intricacy.
I'd love to take up riding again - once my financial situation allows me a bit more leeway I'm going to get back on horseback... and maybe someday I'll be able to afford a horse of my own!

Mini-me on horseback for the very first time
11 - Legolas' Background Faces
Because - DUH!
You can't not love Orlando pulling faces in the background of a shot, right? It's a wonder the movies haven't been categorized as comedies, really ;)

and my most favourite pic, which I'm using instead of emojis in nearly all of my WhatsApp conversations:

it's universally usable, really :)
Okay, I think I've bored you all enough for one day! :) I'll try to catch up to the current date tomorrow... hopefully :)
