Title: Remember me?
Author: Sophie Kinsella

Amruniel's review:
If this book were a fanfiction I simply would have closed the file after the first two chapters. Since it was a present I had to go through the whole damned thing.
I'm really into GOOD (!!!) chick-lit, I love it. It's perfect for hot days lazing about in the sun. But this certain book felt like... well a children's book at the most. I don't think that there were sentences with more than 10 words and if there were, there were maybe a handful. Throughout the whole story I felt like a) the author thought her readers to be brainless and not capable of understanding more complex sentences, b) reading some text out of a beginners study-book of English. The texts in our books at school used to be written like this whole book.
And I'm not even mentioning the actual story. It sucks. Really. No explanations. Nothing. The only thing that matters is obviously that she happens to have a) a lover and b) sex at the end of the book.
And it's actually the first time ever that a translation is better than the original. Well I haven't read the translation of this particular one (I think it's not even on sale yet) but of 2 other Kinsella books and I had at least to grin a few times. AND the sentences were longer than 10 words :) So the translator does a really good job.
To be honest - I really don't understand why Kinsella is a bestselling author all around the world. Or are there really people out there who appreciate being treated like complete morons?

Out of 10 available points "Remember me?" scores a fabulous 1 - and that's only because I really like the cover :)
