NaNoWriMo Update - Day 15

I'VE REACHED THE HALFWAY POINT!

I've reached and passed the 25,000 words mark. I can't believe I've made it this far!

On the down side: I managed to write myself into a rather sombre corner. *shrugs* Ah well, I'll leave it like that, start on a new scene or chapter tomorrow and come back to adress the issue when I'm doing revision/re-writes later on.
Maybe the boys needed to go there. Maybe I needed to go there. Who knows. On the long run it doesn't matter :) Either I'll delete that part, or I'll find a way to lighten it up somehow. Time will tell.

The more pressing question is - where do I go from here? That's the real downside of not having anything planned out. Once you've backed yourself into a tight spot you have no idea where to go from there :D Ah well, the boys will show me what THEY want to do next. If if they don't I'll come up with something.

My worst case back-up plan: I'll simply have to make them make out :D Can't go wrong with a bit of surprise-smooching *giggles*

I confess I do tend to plan things, but the boys often have their own way of getting there!

I'm more of a planner under normal circumstances as well. I hardly ever have a set outline, but I usually have some general idea of which story/plot-points I want to hit along the way and write the events in-between the way my characters want to.

But this time I went into the project with just the general plot-bunny that bit me last summer, and a very hazy idea of what the major conflict or plot point of the story could be.
Other than that, I just improvise. :D But it seems to be working out quite okay thus far. I'm still light-years away from coming to a point where the conflict/event might possibly take place, but hey, I actually did throw in some fore-shadowing in the few chapters I've written so far :D That has to count for something, right?!

Anyway, I'm letting the boys direct the story at the moment, and so far they're cooperating quite nicely. So I'll have to wait and see where they will take me, I guess.
